With the advancements in media formats, especially in the online medium, those who cherish offline use for audio content might run into some challenges. And although there are numerous online download services, sometimes a desktop solution is the preferred way to go, for many reasons. Starting from the aforementioned, MP3jam aims at offering users a centralized platform for searching and downloading their preferred songs, on a multitude of platforms, from the more common, up to more niche-type ones.
The availability of choice is offered right from the start, as users can select to either use the search function and manually input text strings, or, if they prefer, add the corresponding audio URL to the download.
For aiding things, even more, a nifty categorization is offered on the app’s first page, where users can either browse genre, as well as choose from types of music that address certain moods.
As expected, being a download manager, MP3jam features an internal downloads library, which we found to be adequate for visualizing the download history. However, there aren’t any particular details offered, aside from the artist and name.
It would be nice to see, in future iterations of the app, a more detailed downloads view, with fields for various metadata, such as size, corresponding directory, download priority, and more relevant information.
Give MP3jam a try if you need a minimalist app to help you search and download audio content from multiple platforms, through a simple yet capable collection of tools for saving and organizing the resulting content.
